Our hope is that we get films from all over, from female
directors of different ages, of diverse backgrounds and with new perspectives. While films do not have to be women-only made, they do need to be made by predominantly female film crews or be led by a female director because it's time for women's voices to be equally heard.
SAGA : Adelaide International Women's Film Festival
Friday June 1st, Saturday June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd, 2018
SAGA is a new film festival. It is a grassroots film festival that creates a platform for women and girls to tell their own stories, to shape their own narratives and to define themselves before they are defined by others. If you consider that 93% of directors are male, then the question must surely become : ’Where are the women’s stories? What’s happened to them?’
SAGA promotes diversity and wonderfulness through bringing us films we would otherwise not see. SAGA will be a festival full of surprises - expect to see lots of unusual and interesting films!
